Model Organisms

This course covers the use of vertebrate and invertebrate model organisms in biomedical research. Topics include the use of several models including: mouse, rat, zebrafish, xenopus, C. elegans, and Drosophila. Special emphasis will be placed on the strengths that specialized techniques of each organism provide to the research community in understanding the etiology of disease. Spring semesters.
